Director, Technology
Directs, plans, manages, and mentors the technology teams for DOS Canada. Works with DOS Canada managers and architects to drive decisions on process and procedures for technology. Develops the next generation product platform for DOS to be used by multiple business units within TWDC for development and deployment of online games.
Responsibilities:
Develop the next generation product platform for DOS for development and deployment of online games. Collaborate and coordinate with all DOS engineering teams to build technology platforms.
Lead, manage and mentor the software engineering and IT departments. Build internal expertise in new areas and create new leaders.
Participate in research and product creation directly. Be a significant part of innovative products.
Collaborate with the appropriate departments to assess and recommend technologies that support company organizational needs.
Define common technology platform by evaluating existing systems (both internal and external).
Implement best practices within the technology teams.
Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
Supervise recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all development staff in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree computer science or related field.
7+ years people management in a technical field.
Proficient with Java, PHP, MySQL, ActionScript and Linux.
Fluent in English.

Able to transition from technical expert to business strategist.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Visionary.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire a team of highly technical individuals.
Excellent understanding of current technologies and their benefits and pitfalls.
