Flash Programmer

Responsible for designing and programming the front end of the virtual world and planning and implementing features.

 

Responsibilities:


Program various user interface components after designs are approved.

Design various user interface components for the virtual world.

Communicate with Project Managers and Creative Lead to ensure designs are meeting expectations.

Provide training and mentoring for team members.

List art and sound assets needed for your projects and communicate them to the appropriate people.

Optimize/tweak front-end client.

Assist other departments with tasks when needed.

Document and archive all client code.

 

Qualifications:


Post-secondary degree or diploma in computer technology, or equivalent experience.

3+ years experience as a programmer in the PC, Internet, or console game industry or multimedia industry creating multi-player games.

ActionScript 3 with a solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP).

Skill with Client and Server integration required.

Experience with source control (SVN) an asset.

Experience with Java an asset.

Proficiency in Flash programming and its limitations.

Experience with SmartFox, ElectroServer, or Flash Media Servers.

Fluent in English.

Must have a strong background in object-orientated programming (OOP).
