Manager, Information and Workplace Technology

This role is responsible for the management of technical staff, organization and planning of all projects, overseeing project execution, documenting processes & procedures, reviewing technical plans and documentation for all Club Penguin technical infrastructure, applications and workplace technology (desktop hardware and software, phones, video conferencing, physical security systems and help desk).

 

Responsible for all technical systems at Club Penguin Kelowna and clubpenguin.com data centres. Also, the primary point of contact to Corporate IT for all Worldwide Club Penguin Offices.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Planning, organizing and overseeing implementation of all technical IT projects. Communication of progress, issues and concerns.

Management and Mentoring of Technical Team

Knowledge sharing, ensuring complete system documentation

Improving help desk process and response times

Develop and implement Technical Disaster Recovery Plan for Kelowna office and data centers

 

Qualifications:

 

Education

 

Minimum 4 Year Degree in Computer Information Systems, Project Management Certification an asset

 

Experience:

 

Previous management of technical staff within a large corporation

Successful management of complex enterprise IT projects

Technically versed in the latest Enterprise infrastructure

 

Additional:

 

Learning Period 2 months

English, others an asset

WindowsXP, Windows Server, OS X, Linux and Project Management Software

Work Schedule:

 

From Monday to Friday: 8am - 4:30 pm (On-Call After Hours Mon-Friday and Weekends - rotating schedule)

 

Internal Communications:

 

Director, Technology and IT team

All departments, as necessary

 

External Communications:

 

Vendors regarding coordination of service calls and requests for quotes as well as purchasing hardware/software.

International development teams

Colleagues at TWDC

Able to manage an experienced and talented technical team

Able to plan and execute multiple projects at once

Thorough knowledge of the principles ad practices of project management

Excellent problem solver

Excellent communicator

Exceptional organizational and time management skills
