Senior Marketing Manager

The Senior Manager, Marketing will be the first full time marketing position for Club Penguin. This position will be developing and implementing Club Penguin's first marketing programs. This individual will have responsibility for consumer insights and segmentation, brand stewardship, marketing strategy, and managing the marketing function. Responsibility will include both the North American market, as well as expansion into international markets.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Consumer Insights & Segmentation


Support development and execution of market research strategy, using research to develop a deep understanding of guest loyalty drivers

Use web analytic tools, internal reporting, and market research to develop and update consumer profiles and segmentation

Track and analyze emerging competition

Ensure effective synthesis of market, research, and internal data into actionable insights

 

Brand Stewardship


Establish brand identity for use in marketing efforts for online CP as well as CP products and promotions throughout Disney

Ensure brand is consistently represented in all initiatives throughout Disney

Develop in-depth brand framework with detailed guidelines for all communications and artwork

 

Marketing Strategy


Review, and revise as needed, marketing objectives with senior management

Develop strategies to meet objectives, including acquisition of new players, conversion to paid subscribers, retention/reducing churn of current subscribers, and reactivation of lapsed subscribers

Specify comprehensive marketing plans to support all strategies, with required funding, expected results and ROI

Develop strategies to support international objectives for worldwide implementation, and work with international WDIG staff to oversee region-specific initiatives

Work with synergy partners across Disney to support CP and Disney objectives

Work with WDIG online marketing staff to share best practices

 

Manage Marketing Function


Hire and manage Associate Marketing Manager

Create budget and forecast system, analyze marketing results and support strategic planning

Execute, and oversee execution of, all marketing initiatives to achieve marketing objectives

Work with WDIG marketing support functions, including CRM, and external vendors (identifying new vendors as needed)

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelors Degree required, Advanced degree preferred, MBA desired

7+ Years marketing experience

People management experience required

Online experience required

Experience in entertainment or gaming preferred but not required

English language, other languages a plus

Strong proficiency in office applications, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, email, internet; basic proficiency in various applications for viewing photo and video files
