Team Leader, Consumer Research

Oversee the Research & Data Collector/s as they obtain, document and report on feedback from users regarding content and game experience. Work with the Business Intelligence team to provide reports on the activity of users on site. This person will be responsible for knowing what kids want and sharing this with the team and others.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Work with internal business partners and business intelligence to provide useful, accurate and timely reports from metrics.

Oversee the timely and accurate creation and distribution of a weekly report (CAR).

Mentor, train, and support the Research & Data Collector/s.

Work with internal business partners on joint/shared research efforts.

Review research findings from partners, identifying insights for Club Penguin.

Formulate and update analytical models for children’s videogame market including competitive analysis, marketing research, player feedback, pricing and membership analyses.

Investigate and analyze data from qualitative and quantitative sources to deliver an accurate and logical view of competitive landscape.

Compile business and market assumptions through mastering multiple research tools, both qualitative and quantitative.

Present findings of competitive intelligence work to expand and strengthen leadership and partner teams’ knowledge of critical competitor issues and other findings.

Organize and facilitate play and focus groups.

Responsive and available during ‘discovery’ period of projects. Attend meetings and give feedback during the creative process.

 

Qualifications:

 

Relevant post-secondary education preferred.

3+ years in consumer insights and market research.

Experience leading a team.

Experience working on children products.

Statistics, data research and collection, data analysis or related experience.

Childhood development or related experience.

Knowledge or expertise in kid trends, pop culture or global culture.

Word processing, spreadsheets, wikis, internet, presentation software, Omniture or related software.

Fluent in English.

 

Skills and Abilities:

 

Proficiency with Omniture or related software to perform detailed web data analysis.

Able to mentor and motivate staff to learn, grow and produce excellent work.

Excellent understanding of pop culture and the internet, and how to stay current.

Good public speaking and presentation skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Able to create and present unbiased reports and evaluations.

Able to observe and analyze the play patterns of children.

Able to glean information from a variety of places (internet and otherwise) and relay it succinctly.

Big fan of Club Penguin, with a solid understanding of the game and culture.

Able to communicate opinions effectively and with confidence.
