Your enthusiasm and participation in Coins for Change 2007 supports a small rural Kipsigi village in Kenya (with just 256 families and 911 kids) to improve school for their children, gain access to health care and helps mothers learn new ways to earn money so their kids don't have to work. Funding supported:

• 12 new classrooms
• A clean water supply at the school
• A library and community centre
• Teacher accommodations
• 6 latrines
• A kitchen and cafeteria
• 2 community gardens with fencing
• A lunch program for kids
• Sports equipment
• Training for teachers
• Health kits that help stop the spread of disease.

Funded by the New Horizon Foundation.

A Masai village in Kenya received funding to:

• Build eight new classrooms at their school
• Refurbish the school library and office
• Install a clean water source at the school
• Train 40 student leaders over three years to help improve community health

Funding also supported a community mobile health clinic that serves more than 2,000 people, and alternative income programs for mothers so their children could attend school rather than going to work.
